INTRODUCTION

The Diploma in Islamic Studies with a Specialization in Da’wah and Management has been offered since 1996. It integrates fundamental knowledge of Islamic propagation (da’wah) with management studies, aiming to produce preachers who are well-versed in the fundamentals of Islam and, at the same time, capable of effective management.

PROGRAM FACTS

Da’wah is a vast field to explore and be involved in. It can be applied to both Muslim and non-Muslim communities using various approaches, whether traditional or modern. Today, da’wah extends beyond boundaries and utilizes multiple forms of media. This includes printed media, electronic media, and digital media, encompassing new media such as WhatsApp and social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more.

A da’i (preacher) needs to master various disciplines such as verbal and non-verbal communication, public speaking, comparative religion, schools of thought, ideologies, community engagement, Islamic family values, and others. The emergence of da’wah-based television programs such as Pencetus Ummah, Ustazah Pilihan, Da’i Pendakwah Nusantara, Imam Muda, and others has elevated the preaching profession in the eyes of the public. Indirectly, this has also increased the interest of young people in the field of da’wah.

• This diploma has been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and accredited by MQA (Malaysian Qualifications Agency).

• The curriculum was developed by experts from both academic and industry backgrounds.
