UnIPSAS FAQs
(1) Do I need a student VISA to study in Malaysia?
Yes. All international students must have a valid Student Pass (visa) approved by the
Immigration Department of Malaysia before starting their studies. UniPSAS will assist you with the visa application process.

(2) What are the English language requirements?
Some programs may require proof of English proficiency (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, or UniPSAS internal placement test). If needed, students may take a preparatory English or MUET upon arrival.
(3) Does UnIPSAS provide accommodation for international students?
Yes. UnIPSAS provides on-campus accommodation with affordable fees. Rooms are fully furnished and located close to academic buildings, prayer halls, and cafeterias. However, UnIPSAS only provide accommodation for registered student. UnIPSAS will also assist you on searching a place to rent near the campus.
(4) What is the estimated cost of living in Kuantan ?
The cost of living in Kuantan is affordable. On average, students spend around RM800 – RM1,200 per month, including accommodation, food, and personal expenses.
(5) Is there any support for new international students?
Definitely! The International Student Affairs Unit helps with visa matters, orientation, and adjustment to campus life. There are also student buddies who assist new students upon arrival.
(6) What facilities are available for students ?
Facilities include:
• Modern classrooms and computer labs
• Mosque and prayer halls
• Library with digital resources
• Cafeterias serving halal food
• Sports and recreational areas
(7) Do UnIPSAS offer any form of Scholarship ?
UnIPSAS does not offer any form of scholarship for the time being. However, there are many agencies across the world that offers scholarship especially for Muslim student. Nonetheless, lecturers and teaching staff at UnIPSAS will assist you on obtaining a scholarship.
(8) How long does it take to travel from the airports (KLIA) to UnIPSAS ?
UnIPSAS is located in Kuantan, Pahang, about 3 hours from Kuala Lumpur. There is plenty of public transportation that would take you to Kuala Lumpur at an affordable price.
(9) How long would it take to travel to the nearest city center ?
UnIPSAS is located at KM8, Jalan Gambang, 25150 Kuantan, Pahang which is 11.5 km from the city center (15 – 23Mins). The campus is located beside Kuantan main road and considered to be an urban area due to the facilities around.
(10) Can I bring my family members with me ?
Yes, postgraduate students may apply for Dependent Passes for spouses or children. However, UnIPSAS only provide accommodation for the registered student. Those who wants to stay with their family have to find a place to rent. UnIPSAS is located near residential area that are commonly open for rent.
